National Public Radio program World Cafe, in cooperation with staff from The House of Blues Radio Hour, collaborated to produce an hour long program celebrating the release of the new Jimi Hendrix compilation, Valleys Of Neptune.

The show aired on an episode of World Cafe, was hosted by David Dye, and not only featured music from the new release, but conversation with Hendrix collaborators Billy Cox and Andy Fairweather Low, and Jimi's sister Janie.

If you've been under a rock over the past several months, the music community has been buzzing over this compilation, because it contains more than an hour's worth of previously unavailable studio recordings. Stacy Mitchhart Band Live Recording 3/15/10

The Stacy Mitchhart Band is prepping for a big event coming up on Monday, March 15, 2010 at B.B. King's Blues Club, in Nashville, TN.

Mitchhart and his band will record the night's performance for a brand new Live CD, which is set to ship on April 15, 2010. Fans can already place their pre-orders for the CD to have it sent to their home that same day.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Stacy Mitchhart moved to Nashville in 1996 to further his career as a Blues musician, and quickly established himself as the city's premier Blues showman. His band, Stacy Mitchhart and Blues-U-Can-Use attracted fans of all types to his concerts, and his blend of Blues, Soul, Jazz, Funk and Rock influences brought crowds to their feet wherever the band played.

The singer and guitarist has released nine albums (most recently 2009's versatile Grown Ass Man), a live CD/DVD, and starred in the acclaimed documentary Nashvegas Blues. He formed his own record label, Dr. Sam Records, and is a true hustler in every sense of the word, working hard to further the Stacy Mitchhart Brand, as well as the Stacy Mitchhart Band.

With the new live recording, crews will be at B.B. King's Nashville to capture both the concert audio, as well as to videotape the show. More information on this show, and a printout to receive free admission to the taping, is available on the Official Stacy Mitchhart Band Website.

Here's the Trailer For the Documentary Film Nashvegas Blues Starring Stacy Mitchhart

I had the opportunity to catch one of Stacy's shows in 2009, and talk with him between sets, and I can tell you from first hand experience that he is not only an amazing guitarist and fantastic singer, but he is also a very down-to-earth individual who cares deeply about the music and his integrity in a business that has often been known to chew people up and spit them out. I highly recommend you check out a Stacy Mitchhart Band show the next time they are in your neighborhood. - Johnny Full-Time
