Legendary singer Etta James' son remains positive, hoping for a release of his mother from Riverside Community Hospital soon.
James has been hospitalized for nearly a month, battling various illnesses, and son Donto James told reporters that his mother is recovering nicely now, and should be able to leave the hospital in the near future.
Donto James added that Etta James had originally entered a treatment program for dependency to painkillers and over-the-counter medication, but her condition worsened, and she had to be admitted to the Southern California Hospital.
He told reporter Vanessa Franko at The Press-Enterprise that his mother will likely be released to a nursing facility for physical therapy before coming home, which is the ultimate goal, although there is no set timeframe on when that could be.

Bluebeat Music has an exclusive album for sale, and the proceeds raised from purchases are going directly toward helping Little Smokey Smothers.
Little Smokey Smothers & Elvin Bishop - Chicago Blues Buddies features studio recordings of the two men, as well as live recordings and an interview. It's currently on sale at the Bluebeat Music website, and 100-percent of the proceeds from the CD are going directly to Little Smokey Smothers to help offset recent medical expenses.
Smothers and Elvin Bishop have been friends for nearly 50 years now. Little Smokey took Bishop under his wing when Elvin arrived in Chicago in 1960, and the two men have remained close ever since.
Smothers has suffered from failing health in recent years, and as a gesture of their strong friendship, Bishop put up the money to produce this album, and all parties involved agreed that Smothers would be the sole recipient of it's sales.
