Blues fans have an opportunity to help the family of late Bluesman Will Roy Sanders, who passed away from lung cancer on February 16th, through a fund that has been established in his memory.
The fund has been set up at Shangri-La Records, which is located at 1916 Madison Avenue, In Memphis, Tennessee, and more detailed information is available below.
Sanders is best known for recording the song "Crosscut Saw" with the Binghampton Blues Boys, a tune that would later be made famous by Albert King, Eric Clapton, and others. He was recently the subject of a documentary film titled Will Roy Sanders: The Last Living Bluesman.
He was well known in Memphis as a member of The Fieldstones, and also ran that city's Green's Lounge juke joint in the 1990's until fire destroyed it in 1997.

Rolling Stone's website has some news from the land of the British rockers. RS reports that Roger Daltry recently told BBC6 Music that he is "...a great Blues singer." and would love to collaborate on an album with former Led Zeppelin maestro Jimmy Page.
Daltry's band, The Who, are on a bit of an unscheduled break, due to guitarist Pete Townshend’s tinnitus, and Daltry took the opportunity to extend his services to Page, if he's interested.
“I don’t sing the blues with the Who, but that’s what I used to be before Townshend started writing. I used to be a great blues singer.”
Rolling Stone had previously reported Page's desire to get back to work, much like his former bandmates Robert Plant and John Paul Jones. Jones is currently playing bass in Rock band Them Crooked Vultures with Dave Grohl and Josh Homme. Plant is working on a solo album, according to various sources, and recently found great success with the album Raising Sand, which he recorded with Alison Krauss.
The Who performed during the halftime spectacular of this year's Super Bowl, and are currently scheduled to perform together on March 30 at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Daltry is also gearing up for a tour with Eric Clapton, and you can see those dates by clicking here.
The widow of late actor John Belushi has teamed with Saturday Night Live writer Anne Beatts to come up with the script for a television series based on The Blues Brothers films, according to various media outlets.
The show will reportedly feature Kieron Lafferty and Wayne Catania in the roles of Jake and Elwood Blues, two neer do well "blood brothers" who grew up in a Catholic orphanage and front a Soul and Blues revival band. Lafferty and Catania are currently serving in those roles with the traveling Blues Brothers Revue. The fictional duo was iconically played by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd originally.
Judy Belushi Pisano told Australian website Undercover.com that she and Beatts have written a script together, along with Lafferty and Catania; and the story arc will span across "six to eight shows where they are on a mission down the Mississippi back to New Orleans."
Pisano has been heavily involved with The Blues Brothers franchise from the beginning, and also co-produces the current Blues Brothers Revue show along with Aykroyd.
No further information was provided as far as when they hoped to start production on the television series, or if any specific networks had shown interest in picking it up.

About The Crossroads Centre, Antigua
Founded in 1998, Crossroads Centre, Antigua was created to provide treatment and education to chemically dependent persons, those with other compulsive addictive behaviors, their families and their significant others. Treatment is provided through residential care, family and aftercare programs. The pathway to recovery is founded on the movement toward a change in lifestyle. Crossroads Centre, Antigua also operates a 16-bed halfway house in Antigua called the Bevon House (exclusively for Antigua residents) and facilitates a school-based education series, Breaking the Cycle, in all Antiguan schools. The Crossroads Centre has recently expanded its programme to offer transitional living for men, in line with the Crossroads Centre’s philosophy on recovery, at The Sanctuary in Delray Beach, Florida, for those who have completed a residential treatment programme.
On a personal note, I attended Crossroads 2007, and I can tell you quite honestly, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I will be in attendance at Crossroads 2010, for sure! - Johnny Full-Time
