About The All Schools Creative SpotlightThe All Schools Creative Spotlight was co-created by Joe Blair and Johnny Full-Time. The Spotlight Committee consists of teachers, city leaders, and media professionals whose goal is to support the arts in all Vanderburgh County, Indiana schools. The All Schools Creative Spotlight was first held in April 2009. It is a day-long arts and music festival, held in downtown Evansville, Indiana, that features school and professional music acts performing, as well as booths operated by school art & music groups in an effort to raise funds for their organizations. Money raised from Spotlight t-shirt and button sales at the event fund an endowment maintained by the Spotlight's fiscal arm: the Public Education Foundation of Evansville. The endowment was created to help offset the costs of Vanderburgh County school arts groups who are headed to state and national competitions. About the Public Education Foundation The Public Education Foundation is a not-for-profit community organization authorized to direct private dollars into innovative and far-reaching education programs when and where public funding is not available. Since being established in 1985, PEF has raised and awarded nearly $5.5 million for the betterment of our schools through academic grants, innovative programs, and scholarships. While we believe the teachers in the EVSC are doing an excellent job of teaching our youth, we want to enhance their classrooms and teaching material to create a more hands on and fully supplemented learning experience.
