Show History: In the spring of 2008, I approached the management at WUEV, and proposed to them that since their student staff was on summer break, I would be more than willing to do a volunteer on-air shift. I added that since the station played Blues every Saturday, and I listen to it every day, that I felt it would be a natural fit. Management agreed, and we aired the first episode on June 7, 2008. The students came back that fall, and I remained part of the WUEV family. Since that first episode, F.T.B.R. has evolved into "The Home For New And Independent Blues Music!" It's also a launchpad for local artists in the Evansville area, because it's the only place that folks can hear them. Often on the show, you can hear Blues Artist Interviews, both over the phone and in studio. The biggest thrill I get is when an artist comes on an episode of Full-Time Blues and plays live on the air, chats a little about their career and their latest project, and plays DJ by picking out some songs. I work hard every week to create relationships with record labels and independent artists, so I can bring listeners tunes that they likely won't find anywhere else, and a place they can find new Blues easily, without satellite subscriptions or monthly online streaming fees.
