Listen to Full-Time Blues Radio
Founded in June 2008, Full-Time Blues Radio started out as a simple two-hour radio program that provided "Johnny Full-Time" John Luttrell with an opportunity to spin his favorite songs. It didn't take long for J.F.T. to notice there was a void in radio programming out there, and that HE was the man to fill it. The show adopted a new mantra and concentrated on new albums and independent artists. It became "The Home for New & Independent Blues Music!" Artists and record labels soon started jumping on board the F.T.B. train, with folks lining up for interviews with Johnny, and music pouring in from around the world! Fans caught wind of this new radio revolution, as well, and folks started listening online from across the United States and beyond the seas! Now, it's our goal to begin breaking in to new radio markets. F.T.B. still broadcasts every Saturday on WUEV-FM in Evansville, Indiana, and the show streams live online at WUEV.org We need the support of our listeners, website visitors, fans and friends to reach new ears. Call or write your favorite radio station and tell them you want to hear Full-Time Blues Radio on their airwaves!

It is my passion to connect fans with new music and new artists so that this amazing art form can thrive in a world where so much of what we hear is disposable sound. There are tons of great artists out there, and they are playing the music we love! This is the place where we can come together to find out about new releases, read reviews, hear interviews, and listen to the songs that will become future classics. Thank you for checking us out! Subscribe to the website’s E-magazine and RSS feeds, so you will always know when new information is posted on the site, as well as stay connected to exclusive material you can’t find anywhere else. I appreciate every visitor that logs on to this website, and I hope that you’ll come back often and tell your friends. John's Bio
"I began a love affair with music at an early age. The Blues became my passion later in life, until it consumed me to the point that I want it to be my career from now on."My Relationship With Music: I started out listening to Top 40 as a youngster. I can remember being in elementary school and just sitting in my room with the radio on, listening to Casey Kasem's countdown. As I got older, my tastes started to grow and evolve. I was listening to Classic Country artists like Merle Haggard and Buck Owens with my dad. He was also really into Bob Seger and John Mellencamp (two artists I still love today, and in the case of Seger, my all time favorite.) My mom was into Contemporary Country, so it was Garth Brooks, George Strait, and the like. When I was tagging along with my uncles, we listened to KISS and Motley Crue. I was exposed to a lot. In high school I DJ'ed parties and dances with my best friend, so I was up on all of the latest Hip-Hop and R&B. I was also buying Heavy Metal CDs. But, I also had some aunts who were really into Stevie Ray Vaughan. The first time I heard his music, though, it didn't register like it would a little later in life. When I heard S.R.V. again, it was like finding religion. I was drawn to his music from there, and began tracing the Roots backward. As I got older, the other musical genres all began to fade away. I gave up Rap quickly, and Heavy Metal followed after that. I no longer listen to Contemporary Country, either (except for a couple of artists.) I find myself absorbed in the Blues. I still tune in the Classic Rock station from time-to-time, listen to Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash on my iPod, and throw on my Bob Seger vinyl. But, the great American music rules my life. It truly is my passion. My other passions in life are my wife, family, my dogs, radio, travel, and entertainment in all forms. How I Got Into Radio As for my career path, I thought I wanted to go to school to be a graphic artist, but quickly found out I wasn't as passionate about it as I had led myself to believe. I talked to an adviser in Broadcasting at the university I had chosen, and I was hooked. Two degrees later, I was ready to get on the airwaves. That would take a little while. I broke into radio with a board operating position about 2005, working behind the scenes. I switched to a job in TV production for a couple of years. Then, I landed my first full-time gig doing on-air radio in '07. In 2009, my position was eliminated, Full-Time Blues Radio was almost a year old, and I used my severance pay to start this website.
